The Alton Park Development Corporation Announces the Celebration of the Juneteenth Holiday on Friday, June 19, 2026, from 1 PM–4 PM
Chattanooga, TN — The Alton Park Development Corporation, under the leadership of Dr. Elenora Woods, DDS, FOI, FPFA, proudly announces its 2026 Juneteenth Celebration. This year’s event will take place on Friday, June 19, 2026, from 1 PM to 4 PM at the Chattanooga Civic Center at Mountainside. The celebration will honor freedom, culture, heritage, and the ongoing pursuit of community empowerment.
“This year’s Juneteenth celebration is especially meaningful as we honor the legacy of Johnny Holloway and expand our commitment to education, culture, and community advancement,” said Dr. Elenora Woods, DDS, FOI, FPFA, President of the Alton Park Development Corporation. “We invite families, neighbors, and partners across Chattanooga to join us for a day of unity, empowerment, and cultural pride.”

We are seeking vendors who offer Southern cuisine and/or authentic African dishes to help create a rich cultural food experience for all attendees. The event is free to the public! APDC is a Nonprofit 501(c)(3) Organization and all donations are tax deductible.
This historic dedication of the African-American Education & History Museum honors the extraordinary legacy of Johnny Holloway and his lifelong commitment to education, cultural preservation, and community advancement. The tour will highlight curated displays, artifacts, and heritage installations.
This course offers an in‑depth exploration of African and African American history, culture, and global contributions. Attendees will have the opportunity to register onsite.
Music featuring traditional rhythms and live performances. Dance will showcase movement, storytelling, and heritage.
We'll be celebrating identity, resilience, and artistic expression with interactive learning, history exhibits, and cultural demonstrations.
We're supporting informed civic participation, offering tools for budgeting, credit building, and economic empowerment, providing guidance for individuals seeking to restore their voting and civil rights.
